FAQ: For Candidates

Q: Who is Cadre?

A: Cadre provides strategic recruitment solutions for contract, temporary, and permanent employment opportunities for mid-level through executive personnel. We specialize in locating hard-to-find candidates who have the engineering, technical, and management competencies that are the most difficult to find in today’s tight labour market.

Q: How much recruitment experience does Cadre have?

A: Cadre’s founding partners have more than 45 years of combined recruitment experience. Coupled with their on-site staff of Human Resource Professionals and industry specialized recruitment teams, they are leaders in the recruitment field.

Q: Where is Cadre located?

A: We have offices in Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Sudbury and Toronto, with a strong network of both on-site recruitment specialists and off-site consultants. Through our expansive network of relationships and formal alliances, Cadre is able to provide opportunities within organizations across North America.

Q: Does Cadre offer temporary, contract and permanent opportunities?

A: Yes. Cadre places candidates in temporary, contract and permanent positions.

Q: Is there a fee involved in finding a position?

A: No. Candidates never incur fees when dealing with Cadre.

Q: I have submitted my resume. What is the next step?

A: Once we have determined that your background matches an open position that we are actively recruiting for, you will receive a phone call from one of our recruitment specialists within 24 hours. A phone interview will be conducted to review how your qualifications meet the position’s requirements and, if there is a satisfactory match, your recruitment specialist may ask you to come to our office for an in-depth interview.

Q: Will my resume be sent out to potential employers without my knowledge?

A: Never. Your resume will not be made viewable or distributed anywhere without your express, prior consent. Before sharing your resume with anyone, your recruitment specialist will first brief you on the job description, location, work environment, and any other applicable information.

Q: How does the pay schedule work?

A: Contractors are paid weekly through direct deposit.

Q: How long does it take to find an assignment?

A: The length of time varies greatly depending on your skills, experience, and current market conditions. Once you have completed your initial evaluation with a Cadre recruitment specialist, the placement process can proceed very quickly. Any specialized skills, location preferences, desired pay rates and conditions in the overall market can, of course, extend this period of time.

Q: I am looking for a new position, but I do not want my current employer to find out. Do you assure the confidentiality of your candidates?

A: Cadre assumes this is the case with all candidates; we are accustomed to handling your situation in a very discrete manner. We will discuss with you, at our initial meeting, what the best means of on-going communication will be.

Q: What is the advantage of going through Cadre for a permanent position instead of responding to job postings or ads?

A: Recruitment is one of many responsibilities of a Corporate HR professional. All too often qualified candidates are overlooked in the sheer volume of unsuitable applications they receive. Cadre works directly with our clients to ensure that your resume is seen by the appropriate individuals.

Q: My contract is ending and I need to start looking for another opportunity. Whom do I contact?

A: Feel free to contact your recruitment specialist as early as 6-8 weeks before your contract is due to end. We'll start searching for your next great opportunity!
